About Threads of Hope

This group meets on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the Parlor. We welcome all levels from seasoned pros and those who would like to learn. It is not essential to attend the gatherings if the schedule does not work for you. Most projects are completed outside of the weekly meetings. On meeting days, we bring our projects and catch up with one another, enjoying fellowship and getting (or giving) technical help to each other.

Care, and the love of knitting and crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort, caring, and God’s blessings for healing and strength. Many blessings are knitted into every shawl. The knitter begins each shawl with a prayer, and intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. When the shawl is completed it is offered a final ritual before being sent along its way.

“Shawls … made for centuries universal and embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify. Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to fly above their troubles…”
